Corrections
These pages list every error this channel has published and not quietly deleted. What was said, what is actually true, and the source that settled it.
They exist because the alternative is worse. A great deal of what circulates about these cars is decades-old misinformation, confidently repeated, and the only way to be different is to be checkable. Videos are not re-uploaded with the mistake silently removed, because that hides the error rather than fixing it. They are corrected here, in a pinned comment, on the relevant page, and in the next edition of the book.
A good share of what they list was found by viewers. If you spot something, say so plainly in the comments or by email. You will be credited.
How this list works. The corrections are on two pages. The videos and history page groups them by the video they affect, most significant first, followed by the history page and smaller corrections; the Michigan archive page holds the corrections to the Michigan test pages, and most of those found elsewhere on the site, articles and timeline included, while checking pages against the Michigan books. Each gives the original claim, the correction, and the source. Where a claim could not be verified either way, it was cut from the video rather than hedged, and those are not listed here because nothing was published.
Recent corrections
- The 1989 braking table labels its columns, and the Caprice’s ergonomics score is 189.60 (the 1989 page)
- The Mustangs were not the only cars without anti-lock brakes, and the 1993 braking table can be read (the 1993 page)
- The 1993 Mustangs and the 1993 braking table, on other pages (the Mustang and anti-lock brakes articles, the 1990s, 1992, 1996, 2026, archive, timeline, Camaro, vehicles and records pages)
- The Crown Victoria S and the 1981 Malibu were not averaged the same way (the 1983 page)
- The Mustang’s lap, the Reliant’s fuel figure, and claims the 1983 book does not make (the 1983 page)
